Payment Dashboard & Connection

Under **Settings → Payments** you manage your interfaces to Stripe and PayPal. Here you define which services are active and enter your bank details for bank transfers.

Link PayPal Onboarding

Click on **"Connect PayPal"** to start the onboarding process. You will be redirected to PayPal, log in, and grant Pixalo permissions for payment processing. After the automatic redirection back to the dashboard, your PayPal account is set up and active as a payment method.

Stripe Connect Integration

Through Stripe, you handle credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Click on **"Connect Stripe"** to link a Stripe Express or Standard account. After successful onboarding, the assigned merchant ID (`acct_...`) is displayed and the status changes to **Active**. You can disconnect the connection at any time.

Bank Transfer / Advance Payment (Manual)

Activate classic bank transfer for customers who prefer not to pay online. Enter **Bank Name**, **Account Holder**, **IBAN**, and **BIC** for this. Once activated, customers selecting "Vorkasse" will receive the bank details in the checkout as well as via confirmation email. The order remains in the **Pending** status until you verify the payment and manually release it.

Order & Default in Checkout

Determine the sorting flexibly. Use the arrow keys (Up/Down) on the right side to set the order in the parent shop. The star icon marks a payment method as **Default** (preselected in the shopping cart). Alternatively, choose "No Preselection" to let parents choose freely.

Stripe Account Guidelines

  • **Stripe Connect Support:** Both independent Stripe Standard accounts and Express accounts can be securely linked.
  • **Identity Verification (KYC):** To avoid payout delays, ensure your business and account verification documents are fully uploaded to Stripe.
  • **Country Availability:** Stripe Connect is available for photographers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and most EU countries.

PayPal Account Guidelines

  • **Required Account Type:** You absolutely need a **PayPal Business Account**. A personal (private) PayPal account does not support the Commerce Platform API integration.
  • **Approved API Status:** Your merchant account must not have any limitations regarding receiving amounts (status: *paymentsReceivable*).
  • **Email Confirmation:** The linked email must be validated with PayPal, otherwise payments will be held by PayPal and canceled after 30 days.

Refund Security

Refunds that you trigger in the detailed view of an order are processed directly via the connected Stripe or PayPal interface and transferred back to the customer's payment method. This saves you time on manual bank transfers.

Payment Delays with Advance Payment

Note that when "Vorkasse" is selected, digital downloads remain locked for parents until you have verified the incoming payment on your bank account and released the order. Pixalo will then automatically notify the parents of the successful receipt.
